Love My Way Pretty in Pink
Heaven Heartbreak Beat
A staple of the '80s British post-punk and new wave rock scene, The Psychedelic Furs are riding a new wave of nostalgia. This highly polished band offers the perfect mix of melancholy soul and rock energy that makes for an unforgettable evening.
Led by vocalist Richard Butler and his bassist brother Tim, the band came into prominence in 1986 when director John Hughes used their song "Pretty in Pink" in his blockbuster movie of the same name. A big hit on the band's breakout album Talk Talk Talk, the song was in heavy rotation on MTV.
After taking some time off, they resumed touring in 2000. Twenty years later, they released their critically acclaimed album Made of Rain, their first LP in nearly three decades.
On stage, Richard's raspy vocals and theatrical stage presence remain captivating, while Tim's signature bass lines provide an indispensable backdrop.
It may be 40 years, but the band's moody, atmospheric rock songs and lyrical depth are as brilliant as ever.
Special guest We Are Scientists opens the show on the heels of their ninth studio album Qualifying Miles. Known for their '90s rock sound and tongue-in-cheek humor, the band recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of their debut LP, With Love and Squalor.
