A new generation is taking mariachi music by storm! Mariachi Herencia de México presents a lively night of Mexican music and culture. Mariachi is a genre of music featuring trumpets, guitars, violins, harp and vocals. Full of passion and emotion, the music is used to convey joy, sadness, romance or drama.
In 2017, the Chicago-based band released its debut album Nuestra Herencia, which topped the Latin streaming charts and earned them their first Latin Grammy® nomination. A year later, Herencia de la Tierra Mía sat atop all major Latin streaming services.
In 2019, Esencia topped the Latin industry charts, while their 2020 follow-up, Esencia, Vol. 2, performed just as well. In 2022, they released Herederos (the “Heirs”), which prompted a wildly successful North American tour and earned them their second Latin Grammy® nomination.
Honoring the past while celebrating the present, this young, virtuoso group is creating a fresh revival of mariachi music. It will be an evening to savor. ¡Viva el mariachi!
