Ticketing Assistant

 

SUMMARY:

The Genesee Theatre has an excellent and immediate opening for a Ticketing Assistant at the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan, IL.  Because they are the first point of contact, the Ticketing Assistant is responsible for providing exemplary customer service to patrons calling or visiting the venue.  

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Utilize the computerized ticketing system to assist guests in the purchasing of tickets for all events at the Genesee Theatre
Provide accurate Genesee Theatre information to guests.
Receive and process counter, phone, and mail ticket orders.
Ability to run and settle daily cash sales reports.
Inventory Lost and Found
Perform all other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
Must maintain a professional demeanor and image, as this is a customer-facing position.
Providing exemplary customer service must be of the utmost importance.
Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member.
Must be a strong manager, motivating and inspiring staff to perform to the best of their abilities.
Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook, is a plus.
Requires ability to work flexible and extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as required by event schedule.
Functionality includes some moderate lifting and bending, as well as extended periods of standing and walking.  Ability to climb stairs is essential.

 

 

Hospitality Attendant

 

SUMMARY:

The Genesee Theatre has an excellent and immediate opening for a Hospitality Attendant at the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan, IL.  The Hospitality Attendant is responsible for providing exemplary customer service to artists and their crew who are visiting the venue. 

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Set up food and beverages for artists in multiple locations. Restock as necessary.
Ice down, re-ice, and dump ice from containers throughout the day.
Bus tables, wash dishes, and clean equipment.
Shop for food and other items that the client requests.
Call local businesses to ask for information or place orders.
Run errands and/or transport clients on show days.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
At least 21 years old with a reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Maintain a positive attitude and work well under pressure.
Able to prioritize and handle multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
Must maintain a professional demeanor and image, as this is a client-facing position.
Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member.
Requires ability to work flexible and extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedule.
Functionality includes lifting and bending, as well as extended periods of standing and walking.  Ability to climb stairs and push/pull carts is essential.

Bartender

 

SUMMARY:

The Genesee Theatre has an excellent and immediate opening for a part-time Bartender at the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan, IL. Due to the volume produced in such a short time frame, it is essential that anyone applying have great customer service skills and experience in high volume alcoholic beverage service to theatre patrons.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Production of quality beverages at a high rate of speed
Honesty / handling US currency
Higher than normal customer service
Problem solving
Utilization of a Point of Sale (POS) System

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Must be able to multi-task in high stress situations
Ability to work with little supervision
Requires ability to work flexible and extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as required by event schedule
Current Bassett Certification and 21 years of age
Ability to pass a background check and criminal history evaluation
Experience in a high volume environment
Ability to climb stairs and stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift 50lbs.

 

 

Security

 

SUMMARY:

The Genesee Theatre has an excellent and immediate opening for Security Personnel at the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan, IL.  The Security Personnel is responsible for overseeing all public and private areas of the theatre, including the lobbies, lounges and bar areas, backstage, and the main auditorium.  He or she secures the premises by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting the building, equipment, and access points or any areas as assigned. This position monitors all people entering at the backstage entry. The Security Personnel ensures that the experience of each artist and patron is safe.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Observes patrons entering the venue and reports irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures and restraining trespassers.
Able to complete reports by recording observations.
Observes all signs of behavior throughout the events and shows.
Reports in detail any suspicious incident in a timely manner to the Security Manager.
Patrols property both outdoors and indoors.
Follows all security procedures and protocols.
Works with the Waukegan Police Department personnel when needed.
Secures all exits and doors where assigned.
Provides assistance to people in need and to report incidences to Front of House Supervisor and Security Manager.
Works closely with Security Manager, Production Manager, and Front of House Supervisor to ensure safety of patrons.
Knowledgeable regarding Genesee’s safety policies and evacuation procedures

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols
Integrity and professionalism
Previous experience in a theater setting desired but not required.
Must maintain a profession demeanor and image at all times.
Will follow dress code as determined.
Works show and event rounds both outside and insides as assigned.
Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member.
Requires ability to work flexible and extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as required by event schedule.
Functionality includes some moderate lifting and bending, as well as extended periods of standing and walking.  Ability to climb stairs is essential.
CPR and AED training and/or certification is a plus.  However, training will be provided by the Genesee Theatre.
Other duties as needed.
