Accessibility Information (ADA)

The Genesee Theatre takes pride in making our guests as comfortable as possible. This includes assisting guests with special needs. We offer special needs seating in all price levels for all events at the Genesee Theatre, but it is available on a first-come, first-serve basis, so we encourage you to act as soon as you know you’ll attend an event.

While you can purchase special needs seats through Ticketmaster.com, our Box Office staff possesses a more specific venue knowledge and familiarity to assist in accommodating your special needs. A valid credit card (all major cards accepted) or cash is required at time of purchase and service fees may apply to all show tickets.

For Accommodation Assistance, please contact our Patrons Services Manager, Larry Frievalt, at 847-406-3157.

Accessible Seating

For guests using wheelchairs or other mobility devices, there are seats on both the Orchestra and Balcony level. A number of Transfer seats are also available on the Orchestra level if some guests with mobility challenges wish to sit in the comfort of our theater seats. One guest is welcome to accompany the person using the wheelchair or mobility device.

Hearing Impairment

The Genesee Theatre has listening devices to assist guests with hearing impairments. On the night of an event, interested parties should pick up these devices with the Guest Relations Manager located in the Lobby. We ask that you leave your driver’s license until the device is returned at the end of the event. If you have any questions, please ask an usher.

American Sign Language

American Sign Language interpretation is available upon request. In order to provide qualified and appropriately prepared signers, we require signing requests at least two weeks prior to the performance date. You may request this service when ordering tickets.

Visual Impairments

Arrangements to accommodate visual impairments may be made for some events through the Genesee Theatre Box Office. Again, planning in advance offers the most options.

Service Animals

Trained service animals will be permitted in Genesee Theatre during events. A guest whose service animal disrupts or could pose a threat to the safety of other patrons, staff or performers will be asked to escort the animal from the theatre and may return without the service animal.
