Friends of Genesee Theatre
The mission of the Friends of the Historic Genesee Theatre is to serve the cultural, educational and economic needs of the community by supporting quality diverse entertainment that brings smiles, laughter, warmth and lasting memories to every patron at excellent values.
Our mission will be achieved by raising funds which will be reinvested in making the theater a catalyst for Waukegan’s civic pride and success as a permanent leader in cultural, educational and economic development in the community.
You can aid in this worthy mission in several ways – through direct service by becoming a member of the Board; as a contributor to a number of membership and sponsorship opportunities; or by volunteering to assist with yearly events and functions.
Founder’s Circle
You can become a Founders Circle member for a donation of $1000.00 per annum to The Friends of the Historic Genesee Theatre (a 501(c) (3) not for profit organization). Your $1000 donation is tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law. By joining the Founder’s Circle, you will receive many unique opportunities befitting the status of membership.
Diplomat Club
You can become a Diplomat Club Member for a donation of $250.00 per year to the Friends of the Historic Genesee Theatre (a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization). Your $250 donation is tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law. By joining the Diplomat Club, you’ll receive many unique opportunities befitting the status of membership.
Seat Sponsorship
Create a memory that will last a lifetime by donating a seat at the Genesee Theatre. For $250, a plate will be imprinted with your name or as a tribute to a loved one and affixed to a theatre seat. As a seat donor, your seat plate is a highly visible memento of your commitment to the success of the theatre and the revitalization of Waukegan. In addition, you will receive a certificate of recognition, as well as a notation on a prominent Seat Donors Wall Plaque. Additional benefits include the tax advantage of donating to a a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Availability is limited and seats are going fast! Don’t miss your chance to be a part of history!
Crystal Medallion
The Women’s Board of the Historic Genesee Theatre, in conjunction with the Junior Woman’s League of Waukegan, is now offering a unique way to commemorate the renovation of this historic theatre. Genuine Swarovski Crystal medallions, featuring the Grand Chandelier are available for $50. These beautiful one-of-a-kind ornaments include a satin ribbon, as well as a ribbon marked with the year 2004 to commemorate the Genesee Theatre’s Grand Re-Opening. Show your support in style with these sparkling statements of Waukegan’s crown jewel. Proceeds benefit the upkeep of the theatre’s restoration. Supplies are limited!
Women’s Board
The Women’s Board of the Historic Genesee Theatre was established to support and promote the aesthetic beauty, educational integrity, and community visibility of the Theatre.
