On Sunday, April 21 at 7:30PM, Lyric Opera present the World's FIRST Mariachi Opera at the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan, IL! Cruzar La Cara De la Luna (To Cross The Face Of The Moon) follows three generations of one family, divided by countries and cultures. When a long-buried secret is revealed, members of the Velasquez family must travel physically and spiritually between Mexico and the U.S.A., looking deeep into their hearts before they discover where they truly belong.
Starring the award-winning Mariachi Aztlan from the University of Texas Pan-American, this 75 minute Opera will be sung in Spanish with projected English Texts.
