Bookkeeper


The Genesee Theatre is an active and vibrant theater located in downtown Waukegan, IL. The theater is a destination for children’s shows, plays, musicals and some of the biggest comedians and musical acts around. The stage, grand lobby and numerous lounges are highly sought after locations for weddings and corporate events. This is your opportunity to help keep the lights and the shows alive at the historic Genesee Theatre.

What You’ll Do
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
• Complete monthly bank reconciliations
• Preparation of monthly journal entries
• Prepare and distribute profit and loss statements by event
• Review estimates of expenses for shows and special events for accuracy
• Assist with event settlements at end of event, some nights and weekends required
• Audit bi-weekly payroll reports
• Manage vendor list and complete 1099s as required
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of bookkeeping, accounting experience
• Non-Profit accounting experience
• 2+ years experience using Quickbooks
• Experience with Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills

Director of Operations

This is your opportunity to help keep the lights and the shows alive at the historic Genesee Theatre.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the Front of House, Production, Special Events and Finance staff to ensure high level of customer service.
Maintain the upkeep of the building, theater and lounges.
Assist with event execution, package pricing and logistics.
Manage vendor relationships to maintain highest quality services and products and ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time.
Responsibility for Human Resources and employee relations.
Responsible for accurate and timely processing of Payroll.
Respond to customer care issues.
Establish and maintain operational efficiency and cost controls.
Available on site at events and performances.
Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree.
5+ years of General Management experience.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Proven customer service skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
